Saturday, April 25th, 2009, 8:00 PM - PFLAG Benefit at PW's Sports Bar
Drag Bingo with Live Entertainment

PW’s Sports Bar, Howard County’s only gay bar, will be hosting a benefit for PFLAG-Columbia/Howard County on Saturday night, April 25. The event, which will begin at 8:00 p.m., will be highlighted by "Drag Bingo" with live entertainment throughout the evening.

"PFLAG is a great organization serving our community," said John Cook, owner of PW’s. "We like the idea that members of the community look out for each other like an extended family."

PW’s has a history of raising money for worthy organizations. Recently, PW’s held fundraisers for Equality Maryland, Breast Cancer Research, The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS foundation, and LARS—Laurel Advocacy Resource Services—which assists families during time of need.

The bar is located at 9855 Washington Blvd. N (in a shopping center at the intersection of Rt. 1 and Whiskey Bottom Road) in Laurel. For more information, call 301-498-4840 or visit PW’s website at www.pwssportsbar.com.

    About Us

PFLAG meetings are free and we welcome everyone. We provide a safe and confidential space for everyone. Teens and young people are invited to participate in our Rainbow Youth Alliance, and new parents are welcomed to meet separately w/another parent for a confidential discussion. We also have an active Parent Forum that meets regularly on another evening.

We have a great group of lesbian and gay members, as well as kids who have gay parents. We don't just celebrate diversity in our chapter...we are diversity!

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 7:30 PM at the Owen Brown Interfaith Center, 7246 Cradlerock Way, Columbia, MD. Most meetings include a speaker and general discussion. There is also time allotted for people to share what is happening in their lives.

See what our meetings are like.
